CODE OF CONDUCT AGAINST THE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
Pursuant to Law No. 28251; The Law Against Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, which incorporated the crimes of user-client and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the tourism sector, outlines the MINIMUM COMMITMENTS THAT ALL TOURISM SERVICE PROVIDERS MUST ASSUME.
In order to combat the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in travel and tourism, tourism service providers will adopt a Code of Conduct that their legal representatives, directors, administrators, employees, and contractors involved in providing tourism services must observe. This Code aims to ensure compliance with the obligations stipulated in Law 28251, as well as to prevent the conduct defined in the same law. It must also incorporate the following minimum control measures:
Refrain from offering, explicitly or implicitly, plans for the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism promotion programs and tour packages.
Refrain from providing tourists, directly or indirectly, with information about locations where such activities are coordinated or practiced. Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents
Refrain from taking tourists, directly or through third parties, to establishments or places where the commercial sexual exploitation of children is practiced, as well as from taking children to the places where tourists are staying, even if these are ships located on the high seas, for the purpose of the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
Refrain from providing vehicles on tourist routes for the purpose of sexual exploitation or abuse of children and adolescents.
Prevent the entry of children and adolescents into hotels or other lodging establishments, bars, similar businesses, and other establishments that provide tourist services, for the purpose of sexual exploitation or abuse.
Take measures to prevent any personnel affiliated with the company, in any capacity, from offering tourist services that allow for sexual activity with children and adolescents.
Report to MINCETUR and other competent authorities any facts of which you become aware, by any means, as well as the existence of places related to the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, and ensure that Within the company, channels must exist for reporting incidents to the appropriate authorities.
Design and disseminate, both internally and with its suppliers of goods and services, a policy outlining measures to prevent and combat all forms of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in travel and tourism.
Train all company personnel on the prevention of the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
Inform users about the legal consequences in Peru of the exploitation and sexual abuse of children and adolescents.
Post this Code of Conduct and any other commitments and measures the provider wishes to adopt to protect children and adolescents in a visible location for employees of the establishment(s).
